Department / CRIB We are committed to advancing our understanding of perioperative cardiovascular complications through interdisciplinary research in the non-cardiac surgery setting. Our team of experts aims to make a significant impact on patient outcomes, as evidenced by our substantial contributions to the recently revised clinical guidelines of the European Society of Cardiology for non-cardiac surgery from 2022. Benefit from our strong collaboration with the clinical cardiology department at the Herzzentrum Basel, with our focus being on «bedside» research with direct clinical application. Additionally, we have established national and international collaborations, opening doors for networking, knowledge exchange, and multicenter studies. As a MD-PhD student in our institute, you will engage in a wide range of activities: • Conducting research on perioperative cardiovascular complications • designing protocols • analyzing data • contributing to scientific publications on a full-time basis. Throughout your MD-PhD, you will have the opportunity to assume team responsibilities, enhancing your leadership and project management skills. We seek candidates with a medical background and a passion for cardiovascular research. While previous clinical experience is not required, a solid understanding of cardiovascular diseases and perioperative care is highly valued.
